Our first Old English Sheepdog joined our lives & family in 1976, "Norfolkhaze Sir Montague". "Monty" was an adored and loved member of the family until his passing at 12 & 1/2 years of age.
A wonderfull and loving introduction to the breed that started our great love & passion for OES.
After a 3 year break with no Old English Sheepdogs in our family due to a young family of our own, we had "Peppa" join our family in 1991 at 8 weeks of age.
"Ch. Soblu Maggie May", from the "Soblu Kennels" of Mr. & Mrs. L.&J. Soderstrom.
Sired from there English import "Oldoak Ned Kelly (Imp.UK) ex. "Ch. Tudorlea Blue Rhapsody". "Oldoak Ned Kelly" was the son of well known English Sire, "Eng.Ch. Barnolby Troubleshooter at Oldoak". "Oldoak Ned Kelly", was bred by Mrs. Della Oaks from the "Oldoak Kennels" in England.
Peppa was introduced to the showring, along with me!! and started her show career in 1991. She attained her Australian Championship Title with in group wins and point score awards from the Old English Sheepdog Club of Victoria Inc. She retired from the show ring at the age of 5 and lived a very happy, pampered life, passing away at 14 years of age.
In 1995 we again went back to "Soblu Kennels" and "Kelsey" joined our Family, "Ch. Soblu Tryst-O-Diamonds", a niece to our "Peppa". Sired by "Soblu Kennels" latest import from England, again bred by Mrs. Della Oaks, "Aust. Ch. Oldoak Private Eye (Imp.UK)", ex. "Soblu Lucy in the Sky". The Dam of "Kelsey" being the full litter sister to our "Peppa".
"Kelsey" had a wonderful show career winning many in group and in show awards, including in show specialty awards, also taking out point score awards for the Old English Sheepdog Club of Victoria Inc., in progressive years. She was titled at 15 months of age and had a very exciting and successful show career lasting till about 5 and half years old.
Retiring her from the showring, we tried breeding from her after having her hip/elbow and eye certification done, but were unfortunate not to get her into whelp.
She is living a full and pampared life as matriarch of the family and at 12 years old still has her full coat and still loves the grooming.
In 2002, we turned to New Zealand and Imported "Brie". "Aust.Ch. L'Ausanne Brigette Bardot (Imp.NZ)" from the well known Kennels of "L'Ausanne" owned by Mr. & Mrs. B.&M.Espie.
"Brie" was sired by "L'Ausanne Kennels" latest import dog from America, "NZ.Grand Ch. & AM.Ch. Cottonwood Come Fly With Me.(Imp.USA") ex. "L'Ausanne Christian Dior".
The Dam of "Brie" is half sister to our "Kelsey".
The sire is from the "Cottonwood Kennels" of Mr. & Mrs. R.& D.Caswell in America.
"Bries'" father is a "Multi Best In Show winner" & New Zealands "Top All Breeds Show Dog of the Year 2004".
"Brie" has an ongoing show career and is titled, with multiple class in group awards, multiple best exhibit in group awards and inshow awards. She is the 2003/2004 best junior bitch point score winner for the Old English Sheepdog Club of Vic. Inc. Brie has also taken out the Old English Sheepdog Club of Vic.Inc 35th Championship Show for 2006 the "Runner Up Best In Show Specialty, Opposite open in show, Bitch cc & Open Bitch class winner".
"Brie" has been Hip/Elbow scored through the AVA hip scheme Register, Eyes tested and cleared through ACES (Australian Canine eye scheme),Thyroid tested and has all her clearances. We hope to produce a litter from her in early 2008 in partnership with "L'Ausanne Kennels" in New Zealand.
We thank Barrie and Lynn Espie from "L'Ausanne Kennels" for entrusting us with her and allowing her to come to Australia to continue our family of "Old English Sheepdogs". We also thank them for their ongoing mentoring & support.
